Beck Trail

As you may have noticed, there is newly opened trail off Route 4 on the way to Murray River from Montague. There is currently some signage visible from the road and the public is now welcome to check it out. The trail contains two 5km loops and its terrain was designed specifically with mountain bikers in mind. In October, we hosted a wonderfully successful Downeaster 2010 Mountain Bike Race which recently won the 2010 Cycle P.E.I Event of the Year award. The trail is suitable, however, for all bikers, walkers, hikers, dog-walkers and snowshoers. The history of the trail and more detailed information can be found at our website, http://www.becktrail.com

I am writing in hopes of creating a dialogue between the trail and the residents of Murray River. We are hopeful that the trail becomes a part of your community. This can be achieved through various planned activities such as group hikes, fundraisers and races.

As the snowy weather approaches, I am going to begin monthly snowshoeing treks and I would love for your community to be involved. There is currently a sign-up form on our website for the tentative date of December 12th.

Any advice, questions, concerns and resources you could provide us with would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your time.
